ZAGREB, 15  November 2017 – A one-day forum on redesigned web-based Internal Control Program (ICP) was held in Zagreb

In the organization of the U.S.Department of State's Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS) program, a one-day forum on the redesigned web-based Internal Control Program (ICP) Guide was held in Zagreb, Croatia, on November 15, 2017. The Forum was attended by export control officials from EXBS partner countries Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, along with the representative from Japanese Cistec, the EU Commission – DG Trade, UN1540 Committee Group of Experts, Germany's BAFA and the US Government. The representatives of export control body from Serbia also attended the Forum as they expressed the interest to start implementing the ICP.

At the beginning of the Forum, Ms Rossitza Petrov, Program Manager of EXBS at the US State Department, presented the redesigned web based ICP  which is based on the WA's Best Practice Guidelines on ICP for Dual-Use Goods and Technologies, and other international standards and best practices. The web-based ICP Guide provides the tools and information industry needs to develop compliant practices and presents a valuable resource for national authorities to develop and disseminate export control compliance guidance to industry.

The EXBS developed ICP Guide that provides extensive information and guidelines to assist companies in establishing and maintaining effective ICPs. It also promotes strategic trade control (STC) compliance best practices and recommmends core elements of a comprehensive and effective ICP, especially to small and medium size companies that usually lack means and personnel to imeplement practices compliant to export control regulations. Ms Petrov emphasized that the EXBS is prepared to support partner countries in customizing and deploying the ICP Guide to best address individual government needs.

The representatives of the competent authorities of Germany, Japan, Romania and Croatia also gave short presentations on the role that the ICP plays in the industries' compliance within their export control systems.

Brussels, 15 December 2017 – Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2017/2268 updates the list of dual-use items that enters into force 16 December 2017
Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2017/2268 ?f 26 September 2017 amending Council Regulation (EC) No 428/2009 setting up a Community regime for the control of exports, transfer, brokering and transit of dual-use items in order to ensure full compliance with with international security obligations as the changes to the control lists were adoped by the international non-proliferation regimes and export control arrangements in 2016. Commission Delegated Regulation will enter into force on 16 December 2017.
Regulation (EC) No 428/2009 empowers the Commission to update the list of dual-use items set out in Annex I as well as Annexes IIa to IIg and Annex IV  by means of delegated acts, in conformity with the relevant obligations and commitments, and any modifications thereto, that Member States have accepted as members of the international non-proliferation regimes and export control arrangements, or by ratification of relevant international treaties.
The changes to the control lists have been taken within the framework of the Australia Group, the Missile Technology Control Regime, the Nuclear Suppliers Group and the Wassenaar arrangement.

22.07.2014. – Council Decision 2014/480/CFSP of 21 July 2014
With the COUNCIL DECISION 2014/480/CFSP of 21 July 2014 amending Decision 2010/413/CFSP concerning restrictive measures against Iran, the Council of the EU has extended the suspension of the Union restrictive measures specified in the Joint Plan of Action until 24 November 2014.

16.07.2014. – Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 775/2014
Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 775/2014 amending Annexes II and III to Council Regulation (EC) no. 1236/2005 concerning trade in certain goods which could be used for capital punishment, torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, was adopted on 16 July 2014.  This Regulation implements changes to the Annex II and III of the Council Regulation (EC) no. 1236/2005.

12.06.2014 - Regulation (EU) No 599/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council
At the end of the June 2014, Regulation (EU) No 599/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 April 2014 amending Council Regulation (EC) No 428/2009 setting up a Community regime for the control of exports, transfer, brokering and transit of dual-use items came into force.  Amendments brought the power to the Commission In order to ensure regular and timely updates of the common list of dual-use items in conformity with the obligations and commitments taken by Member States within the international export control regimes.

09 July 2013 - Export Control after July 1st 2013 and implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No. 428/2009 Becoming a full member of the EU since 1 July 2013 Republic of Croatia is obliged to implement Council Regulation (EC) No. 428/2009 of 5 svibnja 2009th setting up a Community regime for the control of exports, transfer, brokering and transit of dual-use goods. Act on the Control of Dual-Use Items ("Official Gazette", No. 80/11 and 68/2013), which entered into force on the date of accession, allowed direct application of Council Regulation (EC) No. 428/2009 with its amendments. Regulation in its Annex I includes list of dual-use items that can be transferred within the EU without a license. Exceptionally, a permit is required for the transfer of goods within the EU listed in Annex IV. of the same Regulation. Additionaly, with the amendments of the  UCouncil Regulation (EC) No. 428/2009 brought by the Regulation (EU) No. 1232/2011 of the European Parilament and of the Council of 16 November 2011, exporters can use five new  EU General Export Licences which allow export of certain type of goods to certain destinations without issuing of individual export licence under specified conditions.

26 June 2013 Strategic Export Control Conference 2013 is held in Brussels
On 26 June 2013 the Irish Presidency and the European Commission will host the 2013 Strategic Export Control Conference. Further to the adoption of the 2013 Commission Staff Working Document (SWD (2013)7) on strategic export controls drawing the conclusions from the public debate organised in the wake of the 2011 Green Paper, the Strategic Export Control Conference will bring together export control officials from EU institutions and Member States with industry associations and exporters, manufacturers and other economic operators involved in production or trade of dual-use items, as well as representatives of civil society and academia. The Conference marks a milestone in the export control policy review, and will provide a forum to discuss topical dual-use export control issues so as to encourage robust and consistent implementation of export controls in the EU and support the competitiveness of European business. More...

2012 - "Seminar on Export Control and the Aspect of Identifying Dual-Use Goods" held in Zagreb
In cooperation with the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control - BAFA from Germany and organized by the State Office for Trade Policy, a seminar was held entitled "Seminar on Export Control and the Aspect of Identifying Dual-Use Goods". Seminar was held on December 18, 2012 in the hall of the State Office for Trade Policy. Seminar was intended for domestic companies which produce, import or export dual-use goods in order for them to get acquainted with the technical aspect when identifying goods subject to export control, as well as current restrictive measures toward certain countries. Experts form Germany, Sweden and Croatia participated in the seminar and shared their knowledge and experience in the area of export control. The head of the State Office for Trade Policy Denis Čajo stressed in his welcoming address the importance of close cooperation of government institutions and economy in implementing export control. He pointed out that the system of control of dual-use goods brings economic benefit since it widens the possibilities for inclusion in global trade flows, enables the import of highly developed technology which also facilitates foreign investment, stimulates new jobs as a result of foreign investment and imported technologies, and in the end can have a positive impact on increasing of exports by inciting production that meets international standards. The attendees were acquainted with the most recent Croatian regulations in the area of export control, news in dealing with dual-use goods after the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union, as well as current restrictive measures in relation toward certain countries with a special mention of Iran. 25 Croatian companies and the representatives of government institutions from the area of export control participated in the seminar.

20 December 2012 - Regulation on the List of Dual-Use Items
On the basis of Article 3. of the Act on the Export of Dual-Use Items (OG, 100/04 i 84/08), the Government of the Republic of Croatia has issued, on the session held on 6 December 2012, a Regulation on the List of Dual-Use Items (OG 138/12). Regulation is fully in line with the Regulation (EU) No 388/2012 of the European Parilament and of the Council of 19 April 2012 amending Council Regulation (EC) No 428/2009. 
 (OG 118/12) and Ordinance on the Application Form for the Issuance of the Import Certificate for Dual-Use Items (OG 118/12)
Pursuant to Article 6 Paragraph 2 and Article 11 Paragraph 2 Act on the export of Dual-Use items and ("Official Gazette", no. 100/04 and 84/08) and Article 25 and 38 of the Act on the Organization and Jurisdiction of the Ministries (" Official Gazette" No. 150/11), Head of the State Office for Trade Policy Mr. Denis Čajo, issued the Ordinance on the Application Form for the Issuance of the Export Licence for Dual-Use Items, Licence for the Provision of Brokering Services and Technical Assistance, and Ordinance on the Application Form for the Issuance of the Import Certificate for Dual-Use Items. Ordinances came into force on the day of their publication in the Official Gazette no. 118, of 26 October 2012.

06 September 2012 - Regulation on the List of Military Use Goods and List of Non-Military Lethal Goods
The Government of the Republic of Croatia issued the Regulation on the List of Military goods and the List of Non-Military Lethal Goods on the proposal of the Ministry of Economy, pursuant to the Export and Import of Military and Non-Military Lethal Goods (Official Gazette No. 86/08). List of military goods, Annex I of the Regulation is fully compliant with the new Common Military List of the European Union, which was adopted on the February 27th 2012 by the Council of the EU (2012 / C 85/01 since March 22nd 2012).   Given that Annex II - List of Non-Military Lethal goods is our national list, there is a possibility that some of the goods in that List could also be found on the List of Dual-Use goods. In such cases, License for Export is issued by the State Office for Trade Policy under the Act on the Export of Dual-Use goods, and the License for Import is issued by the Ministry of Economy, as stated in European regulations the Act on the Export of Dual-Use goods covers only export but not import.   On the date of entry into force, the Regulation on the List of Military and List of Non-Military Lethal goods (OG 89/12) repealed Article 3 Paragraph 3 and 4 and Annex IV. - List of Military and Annex V - List of Non-Military Lethal goods of the Regulation Specifying Goods Subject to Export and Import Licences (OG 77/10, 146/11 and 25/12).

05 September 2012 - Regulation amending the Regulation on import and export controls of rough diamonds The Government of the Republic of Croatia at its session held on 30 August 2012 adopted a Regulation amending the Regulation on import and export controls of rough diamonds. Regulation was published in the Official Gazette No. 100/2012 and will be in force as of 13 September  2012.

27 April 2012 - Regulation on amendments of the regulation concerning trade in certain goods which could be used for capital punishment, torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment
The Government of the Republic of Croatia at its session held on 27 April 2012 godine adopted the Regulation on amendments of the regulation concerning trade in certain goods which could be used for capital punishment, torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. The Regulation was published in the Official Gazette No.  51/2012, and will be in force as of 12 May 2012.

28 March 2012 - Decision amending the Decision on the implementation of international restrictive measures set out by the Council of the European Union decisions 2010/413/CFSP 2011/299/CFSP regarding the situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran
Based on the Article 4. of the Act on International restrictive mesures (OG139/2008), Government of the Republic of Croatia, at its session held on 22 March 2012, adopted the Decision amending the Decision on the implementation of international restrictive measures set out by the Council of the European Union decisions 2010/413/CFSP 2011/299/CFSP regarding the situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran

23 February 2012 - Regulation on Amendments of the Regulation on Specifying Goods Subject to Export and Import Licences
The Government of the Republic of Croatia at its session held on 23 February 2012 adopted the Regulation on Amendments of the Regulation on Specifying Goods Subject to Export and Import Licences. The Regulation was published in the Official Gazette No. 25 of 28 February 2012 and will be in force as of 1 March 2012. With this Regulation import licenses for radio equipment and telecommunications terminal equipment (RiTT) are abolished.

20 December 2011 - Regulation on Amendments of the Regulation on Specifying Goods Subject to Export and Import Licences
The Government of the Republic of Croatia at its session held on 7 December 2011 adopted the Regulation on Amendments of the Regulation on Specifying Goods Subject to Export and Import Licences. The Regulation was published in the Official Gazette No. 146 of 16 December 2011 and will be in force as of 24 December 2011. With the new Regulation, Annex IV - Military List shall be replaced by the new List harmonized with the Common Military List of the European Union OJ 2011/C 86/01 of 21 february 2011.

16 December 2011 - Regulation concerning trade in certain goods which could be used for capital punishment, torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment
The Government of the Republic of Croatia at its session held on 27 October 2011 adopted the Regulation concerning trade in certain goods which could be used for capital punishment, torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. The Regulation was published in the Official Gazette No. 142 of 9 December 2011 and will be in force as of 16 December 2011. 

12 September 2011 - "Workshop on the Implementation of the Croatian Internal Compliance Program", held in Split Following sessions held in Osijek and Opatija, a Workshop on implementation of the Croatian Internal Compliance Program took place on September 7th and 8th, 2011 in Split, at Le Meridien Lav Hotel. The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship, under the sponsorship of the United States Government. This workshop was designed for companies that manufacture, import or export goods with military applications, export dual-use goods and export goods that can be used to produce such goods. Participants were introduced to the Internal Compliance Program (ICP), a new Internet tool that helps Croatian companies to conduct their business in compliance with International and Croatian standards of export control of strategic goods. Representatives of seven Croatian companies and a representative of County Chamber were present at the workshop. Thanks to financial support EXBS Program (Export Control and Related Border security) of the U.S. Government, attendance at the workshop was free.

12 July 2011 - Croatian Parliament voted for Act on the Trade Control of Dual-Use Items during its 23rd session on July 1st 2011. This Act allows the implementation of Council Regulation (EC) 428/2009, setting up a Community regime for the control of exports, transfer, brokering and transit of dual-use items. Implementation of the Regulation is binding and directly applicable for EU member states. The Act  will come into force on Croatian accession to the EU.

10 May 2011 - "Workshop on the Implementation of the Croatian Internal Compliance Program"  Workshop on implementation of the Croatian Internal Compliance Program was held on 10th and 11th May 2011. in the premises of Hotel Adriatic in Opatija. Workshop was organized by the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship, Directorate for Trade Policy and International Relations under sponsorship of United States Government. Representatives of seven Croatian companies and a representative of County Chamber were present at the workshop. Thanks to financial support EXBS Program (Export Control and Related Border security) of the U.S. Government, attendance at the workshop was free.

The Government of the Republic of Croatia at its session held on 20 May 2010 adopted the Regulation on Specifying Goods Subject to Export and Import Licences. The Regulation was published in the Official Gazette No. 77 of 19 June 2010 and will be in force as of 27 June 2010. 

22 March 2010 - Ordinance on the Application Form for the Issuance of the Export Licence for Dual-Use Items, Provision of Brokering Services and Technical Assistance
According to Article 6 Paragraph 2 of the Act on the Export of Dual-Use Goods, on 10 March 2010, Đuro Popijač M.Sc., Minister for Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship adopted the Ordinance on the Application Form for the Issuance of the Export Licence for Dual-Use Items, Provision of Brokering Services and Technical Assistance. The Ordinance was published in the Official Gazette No. 34 of 19 March 2010 and will be in force as of 27 March 2010.

15 March 2010 – Workshop on the Implementation of the Internal Compliance Program The Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship, in cooperation with the Commonwealth Trading Partners Inc. from USA, organized the Workshop on the Implementation of the Internal Compliance Program (ICP), which was held on 11 and 12 March 2010 at the Regent Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb and was sponsored by the US Government’s EXBS Program (Export Control and Related Border Security). Nineteen Croatian companies who have shown interest for implementing the ICP participated at the workshop. ICP is an advanced internet tool that helps companies conduct export of dual use goods and export or import of military goods in compliance with export control regulations. The program is free of charge and is available on the Ministry's web pages on export control. Due to the fact that the Internal Compliance Program is considered an important international standard in the field of export controls of dual use goods and import and export of military goods, the implementation of the ICP can increase competitiveness of the Croatian companies in an international market.   During 2010, regional workshops will be organized for companies from other regions of Croatia in order to introduce them to the Internal Compliance Program and to raise their awareness of export controls with the aim to prevent international terrorism and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

5 March 2010 - Regulation on Amendments of the Regulation on Specifying Goods Subject to Export and Import Licences The Government of the Republic of Croatia at its session held on 19 February 2010 adopted the Regulation on Amendments of the Regulation on Specifying Goods Subject to Export and Import Licences. The Regulation was published in the Official Gazette No. 27 of 2 March 2010 and will be in force as of 10 March 2010.   

23 February 2010 – Industry-Government Forum on strategic trade controls and Croatia’s new Internal Compliance Program (ICP) The Forum was organized by the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship, and was sponsored by the Government of the United States of America. The Forum was attended by sixty companies who manufacture, import or export military goods or export dual use goods. They were introduced to the Internal Compliance Program (ICP) which was donated by the US Government’s EXBS Program (Export Control and Related Border Security). ICP is a new Internet tool designed as a job-aid and training tool to assist Croatian companies in complying with Croatian and international strategic trade control requirements. ICP is free of charge and available on http://icp.mingorp.hr/. Croatian companies have the option to implement ICP on a voluntary basis.  

11 January 2010 – Regulation on Amendment to the Regulation on the List of Dual-Use Items During a session conducted on 23 December 2009, the Government of the Republic of Croatia adopted the Regulation on Amendment to the Regulation on the List of Dual-Use Items (Official Journal, No. 3/2010), pursuant to Article 3 of the Act on Export of Dual-Use Items (Official Journal, No. 100/2004 and 84/2008). The Regulation on Amendment to the Regulation on the List of Dual-Use Items was updated with Annex 1 of the Council Regulation (EC) No 428/2009 of 5 May 2009, which comprises a List of Dual-Use Items subject to an export license when they are to be exported from the European Union. 

17 and 18 December 2009 - Interagency Seminar on Penalising Breaches of Export Control Law in the Republic of Croatia The Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship, in cooperation with the BAFA – Federal Office of Economics and Export Control from Germany, organized a two-day seminar on penalising breaches of export control law in the Republic of Croatia. The seminar was held on 17 and 18 December 2009 at the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship and was intended as support of the European Union to the representatives of the administrative bodies of the Republic of Croatia who participate in the implementation of rules and legislation on dual use export control. Experts from Germany and Great Britain presented case study examples of dual-use export control breaches.

9 July 2009 – Industry Outreach in Croatia 
The Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship and BAFA - Federal Bureau for Economy and Export Control from Germany, under the long term project of the EU -Assistance in Export Control of Dual-Use Goods - organized the Industry Outreach that was held on 8 and 9 July 2009 in the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship in Zagreb. The seminar was intended for domestic companies that manufacture possible dual-use goods and was attended by experts from Croatia, Germany, Slovenia and Sweden who participate in the implementation of export control. The key objective of the seminar was to strengthen the relationship between the industry and governmental bodies competent for the implementation of export control regulations.

29 June 2009 - Regulation on Amendments of the Regulation on Specifying Goods Subject to Export and Import Licences The Government of the Republic of Croatia at its session held on 19 June 2009 adopted the Regulation on Amendments of the Regulation on Specifying Goods Subject to Export and Import Licences (Official Gazette 73/2009). The Regulation will be in force as of 2 July 2009. With the new Regulation, Annex IV - Military List shall be replaced by the new List harmonized with the Common Military List of the European Union OJ 2009/C 65/01 of 23 February 2009.

2 June 2009 – Regulation on Amendment to the Regulation on the List of Dual-Use Items During a session conducted on 21 May 2009, the Government of the Republic of Croatia adopted the Regulation on Amendment to the Regulation on the List of Dual-Use Items (Official Journal, No. 63/2009), pursuant to Article 3 of the Act on Export of Dual-Use Items (Official Journal, No. 100/2004 and 84/2008). The Regulation on Amendment to the Regulation on the List of Dual-Use Items was updated with Annex 1 of the Council Regulation (EC) No 1167/2008 of 24 October 2008, which comprises a List of Dual-Use Items subject to an export license when they are to be exported from the European Union.

20 – 22 October 2008 – Ninth International Export Control Conference, Cavtat, Croatia The Ninth International Export Control Conference was held in Cavtat, Croatia from 20 to 22 October 2008. The Conference was jointly organized by the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Government of the United States of America. At the Conference, higher officials, experts and representatives of numerous non-governmental organizations from almost 70 countries of the world exchanged their experiences and views on the latest global trends and challenges that are found in export control and border related security issues, and also, they discussed about the UN Security Council Resolution 1540 on WMD proliferation and about the progress made by the UN member countries in conformity with their obligations related to the establishment of the control of WMD proliferation. High representatives and experts who work in the area of export control of weapons and dual use goods, have made a remark that the Republic of Croatia rapidly improved the setting up of a successful strategy control of trade in military and dual use goods, which is based on international standards, and how Croatia has therefore become a model for countries that have not yet established an export control system.

15 July 2008 – Act on Export and Import of Military and Non-Military Lethal Goods The Croatian Parliament adopted the Act on Export and Import of Military and Non-Military Lethal Goods on 15 July 2008. The Act regulates the conditions for the export and import of military goods and non-military lethal goods, the provision of services relating to military goods, the competences of state administration bodies that participate in the implementation of this Act, the rights and obligations of the exporters, importers and the service providers, the terms and conditions for performing activities prescribed with this Act, and the supervisory and administrative measures for the offenders of this Act in case the national or foreign policy interests of the Republic of Croatia are at risk. The Act will be applied as of 1 January 2009.

2 July 2008 – Act on Amendments of the Act on Export of Dual Use Items On 2 July 2008, the Croatian Parliament adopted the Act on the Amendments of the Act on Export of Dual Use Items. The Act is applied as of 26 July 2008. The Amendments of the Act on Export of Dual Use Items refer to the regulation of the transit of dual use items, the provision of brokering services and technical assistance associated with dual use items and, prescription of penalties for offenders of the Act when national or foreign political interests of the Republic of Croatia are at risk. With the Amendments of the Act, the commitments related to the UN Security Council Resolution 1540 on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction are fulfilled. Actually, the UN Security Council member countries have to adopt the regulations that will enable the prevention of the proliferation of nuclear, chemical or biological weapons and items that may be used for transport of such weapons.

21 May 2008 - Regulation on Amendment to the Regulation on the List of Dual-Use Items  During a session conducted on 8 May 2008, the Government of the Republic of Croatia adopted the Regulation on Amendment to the Regulation on the List of Dual-Use Items (Official Journal, No. 57/2008), pursuant to Article 3 of the Act on Export of Dual-Use Items (Official Journal, No. 100/2004). The Regulation on Amendment to the Regulation on the List of Dual-Use Items was updated with Annex 1 of the Council Regulation (EC) No 1183/2007, which comprises a List of Dual-Use Items subject to an export license when they are to be exported from the European Union.

12 - 14 May 2008 - PSI Adriatic Shield 08 Exercise From 12 until 14 May 2008, a civil-military exercise "PSI Adriatic Shield 08", organized by the Republic of Croatia in cooperation with USA and Poland, was held in Opatija and Rijeka. Besides the organizers, Italy, Slovenia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina also participated in the exercise. The Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI) is a global initiative aimed at stopping shipments of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), their delivery systems, and related materials worldwide. The practical stage of the exercise took part in the Port of Rijeka and at sea in front of the port. The scenario simulated was an interception of a vessel suspected to transport cargo which may be used in terrorist actions and, the execution of the subsequent procedures, including police and judicial procedures. The goal of the exercise was to strengthen the national capacities in the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and to test the procedures of the countries on the Adriatic Sea in the exchange of relevant information. Along with Gordan Jandroković, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integrations, and Miljenko Pavlaković, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship, also present on the exercise were numerous high state officials and members of the diplomatic corps.

6 March 2008 - Seminar on Export Control of Dual-Use Items The Croatian Chamber of Commerce hosted the Seminar on Export Control of Dual-Use Items. The seminar was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integrations, the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship and the UNDP. Besides domestic manufacturers and exporters who participated at the seminar, also present were the representatives of scientific development institutions and shippers, plus lecturers from the EU and Croatian competent authorities who gave presentations on their experiences and competences in the implementation of export control of dual-use goods.

6 February 2008 – Industry Outreach Seminar The Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship and the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA), Germany, as part of the EU Pilot Project 2006, organized the Industry Outreach Seminar with the objective to improve the export control system for dual use items. The seminar participants were domestic exporters, shippers and state administration officers involved in the mentioned system. The goal of the seminar is to enhance the cooperation with companies, which is important for the effective functioning of the export control system for dual use items. In order to raise awareness on the importance of export control, the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship will organize similar seminars with the goal of better implementation of the legislation on the control of export of dual use items.
