The Bilateral Intergovernmental Conference between Croatia and the EU, that will ceremonially open the accession negotiations, began early morning on Tuesday in Luxembourg.
The Croatian delegation is led by Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, and also taking part in it are Minister of Foreign Affairs and European integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and the Chief Croatian Negotiator Vladimir Drobnjak. The EU is represented by the 25 members’ foreign ministers. After the Bilateral Intergovernmental Conference, held behind closed doors, a press conference will be held, at which speeches will be held by Sanader and British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, whose country is currently presiding over the EU.
