Ambassador Kušen in an official visit to Tasmania

On 28-29 May 2014 at the invitation of the Governor of the Australian State of Tasmania HE Peter Underwood and his wife, Frances Underwood, Ambassador Ph.D. Damir Kušen and wife, Loreta Bertoša-Kušen, officially visited Tasmania and as their guests they stayed at Government House. The governor and his wife hosted a gala black-tie dinner in honour of the visiting Croatian Ambassador with the participation of the Premier of Tasmania, the head of the Opposition, the Commander of the Tasmanian Navy, the Mayor of Hobart and representatives of universities, and local politics. During the visit, Ambassador Kušen met with the Premier of Tasmania, the President of the Supreme Court, the Mayor of Hobart, and with a number of other officials. At all the meetings, there was a mutual consent to strengthening economic and academic cooperation between Croatia and Tasmania, especially in the timber industry, agriculture, and shipping. The Governor of Tasmania has expressed a desire to pay a visit to Croatia.
