Ambassador Miro Kovač attended Croatian Evening in Bitburg, Rheinland-Pfalz Province

The Croatian Evening was held as a prelude to the opening of the 45th European Folklore Festival and saw the attendance of 300-odd dignitaries from the city’s political, economic and cultural life

Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Federal Republic of Germany Miro Kovač attended July 9th 2009 the Croatian Evening in Bitburg, the Province of Rheinland-Pfalz.

The Croatian Evening was held as a prelude to the opening of the 45th European Folklore Festival and saw the attendance of 300-odd dignitaries from the city’s political, economic and cultural life. It was opened by Bitburg Mayor Joachim Streit, who described Croatia as the favorite tourist destination of German citizens.

In his speech to the guests, Ambassador Kovač presented a shot overview of Croatia’s history, with a special emphasis on Croatia’s political and economic situation. Also present at the Croatian Evening was Consul General to Frankfurt Petar Uzorinac.

Last week, Ambassador Kovač paid inaugural visit to the Minister President of the Province of Thuringia, Dieter Althaus. During the visit, Ambassador Kovač laid out in detail the current political situation in Croatia and informed Minister President Althaus about the economic situation, as well as the possibilities of cooperation in economy and high education.
