Promotion of economic cooperation in Port Lincoln

From 1-3 April 2016, Ambassador Kušen paid an official visit to the town of Port Lincoln, known as the leading Australian centre for fisheries and tuna farming. Mr Kušen was received by the Mayor Bruce Green, along with city councilors. They presented the city"s rich history with a special role of Croatian immigrants who initiated and developed the tuna industry with a world level quality. Tuna farming was later transferred as an investment project in Croatia, the town of Kali on the island Ugljan, and later in other countries of Mediterranean Europe. Ambassador Kušen visited a tuna fishing fleet, a fish processing plant, the local shipyards, and was informed about the development priorities of the city and the potential for tourism development. He also visited the Croatian community at the Croatian Club in Port Lincoln.
