Ambassador Kusen and Consul General Petrusic and their wifes participated at the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Cardinal Stepinac Village in Sydney, on Sunday 22 May. They joined the leadership of the CSV, staff and residents, Fra Smiljan Berisic, nuns, and thousands of representatives of the Croatian community in NSW. Ambassador Kusen and Mr Chris Hayes, MP, unveiled a new statue of Saint Mary MacKillop, set in front of the St. Nikola Tevelic Church. During a luncheon, the Croatian community initiated a fund-raising campaign for the reconstruction of the ”Vodotoranj” in the town of Vukovar, and collected more than $100,000 which will be directly donated to Vukovar.
