The Croatian Cultural Society in Auckland, chaired by its president Mr Goran Katic hosted a celebration of the Croatian National Day, on Saturday, 11th June 2016. Ambassador Damir Kušen and his wife Loreta, the Honorary Consuls of the Republic of Croatia to New Zealand, Sir Peter Talijancich, and Mrs Judy Talijancich, as well as Mr Leo Panzic, with his wife, Annemarie, were among the few hundred guests. The official representatives of the New Zealand Government and Parliament were Minister of Social Affairs and Climate Change, Paula Bennett, and Member of Parliament, Mr Kanwaljit Singh Bakshi.
Goran Kacurov, the artistic director of the folklore group Kralj Tomislav and the Tarara Cap-Haka Maori dance group staged an extraordinary cultural program, presenting rich Croatian cultural traditions.
