Cooperation of Croatian and Israeli Elementary Shools within the Globe Program

At the Eshkol Pais School in Rehovot (Southern Israel) the Ministry of Education of the State of Israel organised the annual, 28th, ceremony of international projects, created by the Israeli elementary schools for the participation in the Globe Programme – Connecting the Next Generation of Scientists. In the Globe Program Israel both Jewish and Arab elementary school equally take part. This year a number of them had an opportunity to cooperate with Croatian elementary schools. The most active Croatian school in the Globe Program is Antun and Stjepan Radic Elementary School from Gunja. At the opening of the ceremony, the audience was addressed by Tina Krce, Chargée d"Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Croatia to Israel, Michelle Kimpel-Guzman, culture attachée at the Embassy of the USA in Tel Aviv, and, on behalf of the Ministry of Education of the State of Israel, Farid Hamdan, Ph. D., National Coordinator of the Globe Program Israel. Chargée d"Affaires a.i. Krce emphasised the suffering of Gunja during the horrible floods in 2014, as an additional indicator of importance of learning about ecology and nature preservation in schools from early age on.
