  • Diplomatic/official passport: No
  • * From 1 October 2019, international visitors and transit passengers who are eligible to travel to New Zealand without a visa must have an NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority) before travelling to New Zealand. You should request your NZeTA well in advance of your trip to New Zealand at: https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-zealand-visas/apply-for-a-visa/about-visa/nzeta and pay NZD $9 (requests via the mobile app) or NZD$12 (requests via the website form). It can take up to 72 hours for an NZeTA request to be processed. From July 2019 you can request your NZeTA. However the NZeTA is only required for travel from 1 October 2019, when it becomes mandatory.
** Also, international visitors entering New Zealand will be charged the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL). The IVL costs NZD$35 for each person travelling to New Zealand and is charged in the same transaction as the NZeTA.
