State Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Gordan Bakota paid 5 May 2004 an official visit to Hungary. In Budapest he met with Deputy State Secretaries to the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jenö Boros and Attila Gecse
Officials of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry expressed their readiness to assist Croatia in its approaching the EU. In talks about the bilateral relations, the Hungarian side announced the possibility of opening special border crossings for Croatian citizens.
The Croatian delegation, apart from State Secretary Gordan Bakota, consisted of Assistant Foreign Minister Svjetlan Berković and Assistant Justice Minister Ljiljana Vodopija-Čengić.
