The Republic of Croatia handed 3 May 2004 at the UN in New York the document on the ratification of the Agreement on Succession Issues of the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, signed in Vienna, 29 June 2001.
As other succeeding countries also notified their ratifications, by handing the Croatia’s ratification document, all conditions have been fulfilled for the Agreement on Succession Issues, that deals with the division of rights, obligations, property and debts between 5 succeeding countries, to come into effect.
Permanent Mission of the Republic of Croatia to the UN handed the ratification document to the UN Secretary General, as a depositor of the Agreement on Succession Issues. The Agreement will come into effect 30 days after the Croatia’s handing of the ratification document, according to Article 12 of the Agreement.
