State Secretary Pejčinović Burić received representatives of Swedish Parliament’s delegation

State Secretary for European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić received 26 June 2006 the representatives of the Swedish Parliament’s delegation, led by Vice-Speaker Per Westerberg

During the meeting, State Secretary Pejčinović Burić thanked for Sweden’s support to Croatia’s EU accession process.

The Croatian side reported to the Swedish delegation’s representatives about Croatia’s full co-operation with the ICTY, the refugee return program, and the co-operation between the neighbouring countries within the implementation of the Sarajevo Declaration, presenting the justice and state administration reform, as well as the program for combating corruption.

The Croatian side informed its collocutors about Croatia’s process of acceding to the EU and offered insight into the screening process and the meeting of the membership criteria. It was pointed out that Croatia expects no benefits in the negotiations process, but that its achievements be valued consistently and that the negotiations dynamics be based on its individual achievements.

Vice-Speaker of the Riksdag Per Westerberg confirmed Sweden’s support and readiness to offer assistance to Croatia in its process of EU accession, and transferred Sweden’s experiences in the negotiations and the accession process.
