State Secretary Metelko-Zgombić attends 10th meeting of Mixed Croatia-Baden-Württemberg Commission

Stuttgart 14-15 February 2019 hosted the 10th meeting of the Mixed Croatia-Baden-Württemberg Commission, co-chaired by State Secretary for European Affairs Metelko-Zgombić and State Minister Theresa Schopper. The meeting was divided into five work groups: 1) Economy and the EU Strategy for the Danube Region, with an emphasis on the Priority Area 8 (strengthening entrepreneurial competitiveness and developing economic clusters); 2) Education, science, research and culture; 3) Agriculture and forestry; 4) Energy and the environment; 5) EU Strategy for the Danube Region, internal security, the police and local self-governmental cooperation.
The second day’s plenary session presented the work groups’ results, which defined new bilateral cooperation projects between Croatia and Baden-Württemberg for the next period.
Metelko-Zgombić and Schopper signed the meeting’s minutes. Both sides expressed belief that the concrete cooperation projects would contribute to a new dynamic in the two countries’ bilateral relations. The next meeting of the Mixed Croatia-Baden-Württemberg Commission will be held in Croatia in 2021.
During her visit to Stuttgart, Metelko-Zgombić visited the Croatian Education Centre, where she met with Coordinator Držislav Ujević.
