State Secretary Matušić receives Azerbaijani MPs

State Secretary for Political Affairs Frano Matušić on Monday received a delegation of Milli Mejlis’ Working Group on Azerbaijan-Croatia Inter-Parliamentary Relations.
 
Matušić underscored the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation as an integral part of bilateral relations, which are progressing in political, economic and other areas, including friendships and cooperation between cities.
 
The state secretary expressed satisfaction over the fact that Croatian companies are participating in the reconstruction of Azerbaijan, notably in mine clearance. He highlighted the possibilities offered by Croatia’s LNG terminal for Central and Southeast Europe, complementary with the EU-Azerbaijan Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Partnership in the Field of Energy, signed in July this year.
 
Head of Azerbaijani delegation Könül Nurullayeva confirmed interest in the additional advancement of bilateral relations, saying that active cooperation between the two parliamentary friendship groups would certainly contribute to that.
