First meeting of Working Group for Preparation and Coordination of Croatia’s IHRA Presidency

The Working Group for the Preparation and Coordination of Croatia’s International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) Presidency held its first meeting on 29 September, on the anniversary of the Babyn Yar massacre.
 
Participants discussed the priorities of Croatia’s presidency, underscoring that the international community had expressed support for Croatia’s 2023-2024 IHRA presidency and that preparations had to be stepped up.
 
They reconfirmed Croatia’s commitment to the continued fight against antisemitism as well as Holocaust distortion and denial, highlighting the great responsibility Croatia would have by assuming IHRA presidency in March 2023.
 
Attending the meeting apart from Foreign Minister Grlić Radman where Group Chairman and State Secretary for Political Affairs Frano Matušić, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister for Holocaust Issues and Combating Antisemitism Sara Lustig, as well as representatives of state administration bodies and public institutions. In its activities, the Working Group closely cooperates with the Croatian IHRA Delegation and representatives of Croatian Jewish communities, who also attended the meeting.
