State secretary Hido Biščević received the Russian Federation Ambassador in the Republic of Croatia Mihailo Konarovski

State Secretary for Political Affairs at the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry Hido Biščević received today, June 23, 2005 in Zagreb, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Croatia, Mihailo Konarovski

On the occasion of the Republic of Croatia Statehood Day, Ambassador Mihail Konarovski congratulated State secretary Hido Biščević and Prime Minister Ivo Sanader on behalf of the Russian Federation Prime Minister, Mihail Fradkov, and on the behalf of the Russian Federation Foreign Affairs Minister Sergej Lavrov he congratulated the Croatian Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović. Konarovski also handed Minister Grabar-Kitarović a letter by the Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Lavrov on the need to reform the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe.

State Secretary Biščević thanked for the letter and messages of congratulations, and stressed the highly developed relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Russian Federation. Regarding the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe reform, State Secretary Biščević stressed Croatia was supporting the need for the reform of the Organisation’s functioning system, due to the necessity to adapt to the new conditions and problems of the present-day Europe. He emphasised the Republic of Croatia was supporting the idea of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe as an efficient all-European organisation, which would share and follow the path to the formation of a new joint and undivided Europe.
