The Republic of Croatia entered the Nuclear Suppliers Group
The Republic of Croatia entered in Oslo, the Kingdom of Norway, today, June 24, 2005, the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG), on the occasion of the regular annual plenary session of the member countries. By becoming a NSG member country, the Republic of Croatia was given timely access to the information in the field of nuclear security
Nuclear Suppliers Group is a recognised international organisation, which has laid the foundations for an efficient monitoring of the transport and use of these materials, in order to prevent their misuse. Transport control system is made possible through a voluntary application of NSG Guidelines, which prescribe regulations and monitoring measures for nuclear materials and technology supplier countries. NSG member countries decide in which countries the materials and technology of the so called double-purpose would be exported. The Republic of Croatia is the 45th country which has met the requirements for becoming a NSG member country, meaning that its national legislation is in harmony with the high standards expected from the member countries, and that its institutions take care of applying these standards.
