State Secretary Božinović invited the representatives of the United Kingdom to establish close cooperation and exchange views on the strengthening of the Euro-Atlantic perspective of South East European countries

State Secretary Božinović invited the representatives of the United Kingdom to establish close cooperation and exchange views on the strengthening of the Euro-Atlantic perspective of South East European countries. He explained the Croatian view of the challenges and possibilities for progress of the neighbouring countries and repeated that the Republic of Croatia was committed to share its experiences with all countries in the region.

The first opportunity for that will be the “Croatia Summit” which will take place in Dubrovnik, on 9 and 10 July 2010. The British Lords confirmed that a group of distinguished representatives of the Group on European Union Enlargement would be glad to take part in the Summit.

State Secretary Božinović stressed the commitment of the Republic of Croatia to satisfy the criteria for accession to the European Union, including the ones for the Chapter on Judiciary and Fundamental Rights. Everyone on the British side expressed their support for the continuation of the European Union enlargement and hope that Croatia would manage to finish accession negotiations in the near future.

State Secretary Božinović exchanged opinions with his colleagues on the situation in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, which is United Kingdom’s first foreign policy priority. He informed his colleagues of activities undertaken by the Croatian troops in Afghanistan, whose enlargement was recently approved by the Croatian Parliament.
