Speaking about Croatia’s priority foreign-policy goals – joining the EU and NATO – State Secretary Božinović informed his collocutor about the current state of affairs, expressing conviction that Croatia would become a NATO member within the foreseen deadlines and that the EU negotiations would soon continue. He pointed out Croatia’s determination to carry on with the reforms that are being implemented.

State Secretary Faller expressed understanding for Croatia’s position regarding Slovenia’s current blockage of Croatia’s NATO and EU accession. He said that Hungary, as a country interested in seeing a friendly country such as Croatia join NATO and the EU as soon as possible, is closely observing the situation.

The collocutors confirmed the existence of excellent relations between two friendly countries, also evidenced by the forthcoming joint session of the Croatia and Hungarian governments, set for 26 March 2009.
