Round table on women’s role in security sector

Co-organized by RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, a round table was held 13 March on the implementation of the UN Security Council Resolutions 1325 and 1820 on security sector reform and gender

Co-organized by RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, a round table was held 13 March on the implementation of the UN Security Council Resolutions 1325 and 1820 on security sector reform and gender. The aim of the round table was the promotion and exchange of experience in gender equality and women’s participation in political, public and economic domain, with special emphasis on strengthening the role of women in security sector.  

The participants included representatives of state institutions, academic community and NGOs from Southeast Europe – Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia, dealing with human rights and gender equality.

The round table was opened by RACVIAC Director Branimir Mandić, with opening remarks delivered by Assistant Minister Vesna Batistić Kos, Gender Equality Ombudsperson Višnja Ljubičić and Belgian Ambassador to Croatia Nancy Rossignol.
