First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić 11 March in Brussels attended meetings of the EU Foreign Affairs Council and General Affairs Council. Pusić also met with Home Affairs Commissioner Cecilia Malmström, with whom she discussed the anticorruption strategy and Croatia’s request to allow citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to enter Croatia with ID cards after Croatia joins the EU. Also discussed was a request to allow citizens of third countries who have a Schengen visa to enter Croatia based on that visa, including citizens of Kosovo.

Pusić and Malmström also talked about the issue of Pelješac Bridge, i.e. the EU-funded pre-feasibility study of the best way to connect the Dubrovnik area with the rest of Croatia, taking into account the financial, Schengen and political aspect of it, as well as the need to adhere to the EU regulations.

Asked how the foreign ministers took the signing of a memorandum with Slovenia, Pusić said the ones she talked to reacted positively. In regard to a possible ratification date, Pusić said she expected the Slovenian parliament to ratify Croatia's EU accession treaty by the end of March or the beginning of April.

Pusić also discussed the upcoming final monitoring report, saying that her expectations were positive. “Commissioner Fuele has announced his visit to Zagreb on 25 March so that he could present the final monitoring report 26 March at the government’s extraordinary session,” Pusić said.
