Political consultations between Croatia and the Czech Republic were held in Prague, 31 June 2004. The Croatian delegation was led by the State Secretary for Political Issues at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hido Biščević, while the host was Czech Deputy Foreign Minister for Bilateral Issues Petr Kolar
The talks discussed the issues regarding Croatia’s realisation of the EU candidate status. The Czech Rep. expressed its clear and unambiguous support. Special attention was given to the exchange of opinions regarding the situation in Southeast Europe and the deliberation on the EU’s and international community’s further activities, for the purposes of finding the best possible solutions for the realisation of full democratic stability in that part of Europe. Bilateral relations between the two countries were described as very good, and concrete steps for the strengthening of co-operation were agreed on.
