Croatian Foreign Minister Miomir Žužul met with German Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer

Croatian Foreign Minister Miomir Žužul met today, 1 June 2004, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Zagreb, with German Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer.

Minister Fischer expressed his satisfaction with Croatia’s progress in all areas, especially in the return of the refugees and co-operation with the International Criminal Tribunal in the Hague. Minister Fischer said that the Federal Republic of Germany will push strongly for a positive decision at the Council’s meeting, because it believes that it will have a positive influence on the whole region, in which Croatia is a key stability factor. After the meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, German Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer was received by Croatian President Stjepan Mesić and Prime Minister Ivo Sanader. On the occasion of the Day of Croatian Diplomacy, Minister Fischer held a lecture at the Renaissance Hall of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts about the state of affairs in the international community, relations within the EU, and the situation in the region. Along with Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, President of the Croatian Parliament Vladimir Šeks and Parliament’s Vice President Luka Bebić, present at the lecture were also members of the Croatian government – Vice Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor, Minister Žužul, Minister Kolinda Grabar Kitarović, Minister Božo Biškupić, Minister Marjan Mlinarić and Minister Berislav Rončević, as well as numerous ambassadors accredited to Croatia and other members of the diplomatic corps.
