On the second day of his visit to the Republic of Albania Minister Jandroković met with Prime Minister Sali Berisha and Speaker of Parliament Jozefina Topalli

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Croatia Gordan Jandroković met on the second day of his visit to the Republic of Albania on Tuesday, 3 June 2008, with the Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha and Speaker of the Parliament Jozefina Topalli

In his talk to Albanian officials Minister Jandroković said that the Republic of Croatia would continue to extend support to the Republic of Albania in the process of rapprochement to Euroatlantic integration. He particularly greeted Albania's wish to use Croatian experience in the process of EU accession.

Also, Minister Jandroković and his Albanian hosts pointed out that intense and frequent visit on the highest levels serve as a contribution and give further incentive to the development in all the other fields of co-operation. They particularly stressed the very good parliamentary co-operation between the two countries. Minister Jandroković also welcomed the initiative of the Croatian and Albanian Parliaments on sending a joint letter to the parliaments of NATO member countries regarding speeding up of the ratification of the NATO Accession Protocol after its signing.

Minister Jandroković and his hosts also discussed the current situation in Southeast Europe, during which they stressed the importance of co-operation between countries of the region through regional initiatives. They also agreed that sustaining the Euroatlantic initiative for all the partners in Southeast Europe is the best incentive and framework for a permanent solution of any remaining open issues.
