State Secretary Bianca Matković received British Ambassador Sir John Ramsden

State Secretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Bianca Matković received on Tuesday, 3 June 2008, in Zagreb Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Croatia Sir John Ramsden

State Secretary Matković informed Ambassador Ramsden on the current affairs in the process of Croatia's accession to the EU, as well as on the concluded NATO accession negotiations. Ambassador Ramsden extended support to Croatia in the process of accession to Euroatlantic integration and expressed aspiration for further development of co-operation between Great Britain and the Republic of Croatia and in the UN Security Council.

State Secretary Matković and Ambassador Ramsden also talked about the current political affairs in the region and the Ambassador said that Croatia constructively co-operates with all the countries of the region and as such, represents an important stability factor. State Secretary Matković pointed out that the Republic of Croatia would continue to contribute to advancing relations with all the countries in the region.

In view of the economic co-operation and foreign trade between the two countries, both parties agreed that they should be strengthened. In this sense, the parties also talked about the joint organization of a conference on public administration, which would offer guidelines for speeding up the procedures with the aim of general improvement of business conditions and encouraging entrepreneurship.
