Mr. Josip Vrbošić, the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Bosnia and Herzegovina visited Glamoč

Today, Mr. Josip Vrbošić, the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, accompanied by Ms. Nives Tiganj, First Secretary, visited Glamoč and participated at the funeral of 49 years old Luce Knežević, and her 23 year old son Nediljko Knežević who both tragically died.

This refugee family from the environs of Doboj secured the means for living by collecting and selling secondary waste. According to unofficial data of the Ministry of the Interior of the Kanton 10, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the tragic event occurred when an air-surface rocket, which was among the items collected, subsequently exploded, causing death of Luce and Nediljko. 19 year old Nataša Knežević was on the first floor at the time of tragic even, escaping death.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers this tragic event as another reminder of the danger of unexploded devices left from wars, and emphasises the importance of all projects related to the mine clearing of war affected areas.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall offer assistance to the surviving Nataša, at these difficult times of loosing her family.
