On 30 October 2003, Mr. Ivan Šimonović, the Croatian Deputy Foreign Minister, handed the letter of appointment to Mr. Harald Augter by which Mr. Stjepan Mesić, the Croatian President, appointed him as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Croatia in Mainz.

Mr. Augter is the President of the Industrial and Trade Chamber in Mainz and the President of the German-Croatian Society. He shall continue to call for further advancement of bilateral economic and cultural links. In his capacity as the Chairman of the Industrial and Trade Chamber, he represents the interests of about 27.000 companies in the region around Mainz, capital of the German Federal Province Rheinland-Pfalz.
