Minister Picula received Mr. Oluseyi Bajulaiya, UNHCR representative...
On 3 November 2003, the Croatian Foreign Minister Picula received Mr. Oluseyi Bajulaiya, UNHCR representative, to a farewell visit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who is to take the place of Deputy Director for Europe at the UNHCR seat in Vienna.
During his mandate in Croatia, a significant shift was made in securing conditions for the return of refugees and displaced persons. He also commended efforts of the Croatian Government for the realisation of this difficult task.
Minister Picula thanked on the overall contribution of the UNHCR in this area and emphasised the commitment of the Croatian Government which considers human rights, especially minority rights, as one of the priorities for normal functioning of the state.
