Ambassador Tomić laid wreath to the refugee cemetery of El Shatt...

On the occasion of All Saints Day, Mr. Ivica Tomić, the Croatian Ambassador to Egypt, laid wreath, on behalf of the Republic of Croatia, to the refugee cemetery of El Shatt. In addition to Ambassador Tomić, officials of the Embassy in Cairo and their families, paid respects to the deceased refugees by a minute of silence. The honorary platoon of the Egyptian Army paid respects as well.

Over 800 refugees from the II World War, evacuated mostly from Dalmatia, where buried at the refugee cemetery of El Shatt. The Croatian Government has initiated the renovation of devastated cemetery. The renovation of the cemetery is to be finished next year.
