Ahead of the ratification of the Croatia-EU accession treaty in Državni Zbor, Minister Pusić met with Slovenian Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec.

“I can’t think of a single case when solving an issue between two countries led to even better relations, but that’s exactly what happened with Croatia and Slovenia,” Pusić said. “We have used this time not only to solve the issue we were faced with, but also to upgrade our relations,” she added, thanking her Slovenian counterpart as well as Slovenian and Croatian experts, France Arhar and Zdravko Rogić, for their efforts to settle the Ljubljanska Banka issue.

Erjavec said the ratification and Croatia’s coming EU membership opened a new chapter in Croatia-Slovenia relations, adding that the stability of the Western Balkans and the continuation of the EU enlargement were in the two countries’ joint interest.
