Croatia helps Tunisia in tourism sector development

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, as the coordination body for international development cooperation and humanitarian aid, is running the project titled “Responsible Tourism as Key for Development”

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, as the coordination body for international development cooperation and humanitarian aid, is running the project titled “Responsible Tourism as Key for Development”, being conducted 2-6 April 2013 as part of Croatia’s activities within the Community of Democracies, Tunisia Working Group. Assistant Minister for Multilateral Affairs and Global Issues Vesna Batistić Kos addressed the working group’s participants.

The goal of the Tunisia Working Group is to direct aid to the priority development areas defined by the Tunisian government.

Croatian experts from the Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Environmental and Nature Protection, Croatian National Tourist Board, Croatian Chamber of Economy, Zagreb Tourist Community, Archaeological Museum and Istria County will transfer to Tunisian partners the experience and know-how concerning the development and advancement of Croatia’s tourism sector acquired during the democratic transition process.

Tunisian representatives will gain insight into the development of Croatia’s normative framework for tourism, tourism sector development strategy by 2020, measures for the development of touristically underdeveloped areas, as well as valorization of cultural and natural heritage for the development of innovative tourist products, accompanied by examples from Croatia’s tourism.
