The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tonino Picula, has sent his warm congratulations to the newly-appointed Cardinal, Josip Bozanić, with his best wishes for successful service in this high office, and expressing his belief that it will be to the benefit of the Catholic Church at large, the local Church in Croatia, and the whole Croatian nation.

"Considering the authority of your position and your responsibilities as the first Vice-president of the European Bishops' Conferences, as well as of your other offices in the high institutions of Vatican, we believe in your contribution to Croatia's further advancing toward the European Union", wrote Minister Picula to Cardinal Bozanić.
