On Friday, March 28, 2025, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman welcomed the President of the Croatian Music Institute, Romana Matanovac, conductor Maestro Tonči Bilić, and Ivo Josipović.

During the meeting, the representatives of the Institute presented its activities and scope of work, with a special emphasis on the plans and preparations for the celebration of its 200th anniversary. The Croatian Music Institute was founded in 1827 as a society of music enthusiasts, modelled after the Vienna Musikverein and similar associations across the Habsburg Monarchy at the time.

In this context, discussions focused on plans for collaboration with the Vienna Musikverein and strengthening ties between the two institutions, with the goal of preserving their shared historical heritage and enhancing cultural connections between Austria and Croatia.

The meeting also explored potential ways to foster such interstate cooperation within the framework of the two countries' cultural collaboration programs, aiming to further strengthen cultural ties and promote Croatian culture.
