Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on Friday received inaugural visit from Belgian Ambassador William De Baets, wishing him success in the additional strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Croatia and Belgium in all areas of mutual interest.

Belgium took over Council of the EU presidency on 1 January 2024. Grlić Radman and De Baets underscored confidence that the successful partnership between the two countries, allies within the EU and NATO, would be deepened during Belgium’s presidency, with the aim of protecting common values and promoting EU’s security and prosperity.

The two officials agreed about the need for constructive cooperation on important European matters, including the enlargement policy, in light of the new geopolitical circumstances brought on by Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East.
