Minister Grlić Radman holds talks with Armenian counterpart Mirzoyan

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on Friday met with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan for talks on strengthening the two countries’ cooperation.
 
Grlić Radman underlined the importance of bilateral cooperation and expressed satisfaction over good parliamentary and judiciary relations. Mutual interest was underscored in the strengthening of the two countries’ economic cooperation. Grlić Radman pointed out the growth of export to Armenia for the last two years, recognizing potential in areas such as IT, transport infrastructure, green and digital transition, pharmaceutical industry and demining.
 
The minister cited EU’s continued support for achieving sustainable and lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan based on the principles of sovereignty, inviolability of borders and territorial integrity. “I am glad that Armenia appreciates EU’s efforts to contribute to the normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations. But we need all actors to join in. In that regard, I applauded direct contacts between Armenia and Azerbaijan as well as steps towards reaching a peace agreement,” he said.
 
Grlić Radman and Mirzoyan also exchanged views on Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and other global security challenges, talking the opportunity to hold constructive talks on global topics of international interest.
 
Mirzoyan spoke about the positive dynamic of Zagreb-Yerevan relations, adding that Croatia, Armenia and the EU shared the same values concerning democracy and the protection of human rights. The two ministers underscored satisfaction with the extant cooperation, pointing out potential for advancement in the areas of economy, culture, science, educations, sports, etc.
