Minister Grlić Radman meets with BiH House of Peoples Vice-Chair Čović, AFET Vice-Chair Zovko

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on Wednesday met with the Vice-Chair of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s House of Peoples, Dragan Čović, and the Vice-Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET), Željana Zovko.

The talks focused on the political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, notably the implementation of the election law reforms, aimed to ensure the equality and legitimate political representation of BiH Croats. Other topics included the steps BiH needed to take on its European path and how Croatia could assist it in that regard.

Čović informed Grlić Radman about the challenges in achieving legitimate rights for the Croats, as well as the current political situation and ethnic relations in BiH, while Zovko presented the European Parliament’s activities concerning BiH and the rest of Southeast Europe.

Grlić Radman underscored that the Croatian Government and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs continued to support political demands for the legitimate representation of the Croats so that BiH would be a functioning, stable and prosperous country and could achieve its Euro-Atlantic ambitions more easily.

All three officials agreed that amendments to the election law would contribute to the stability and functioning of BiH as well as boost trust between the three constituent peoples and all other citizens in the country.
