Minister Gordan Jandroković participated in presentation of NATO Lexicon

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković participated on 28 March 2008 in the presentation of the NATO Lexicon, a publication by Aleksandar Laković and Kristina Stojan, held at Preporodna dvorana of Narodni Dom in Zagreb

In his speech, Minister Jandroković pointed out the importance of informing the Croatian public with the various aspects of NATO, as well as the advantages and responsibilities stemming from its membership. “The broadest possible dialogue with the citizens is our permanent obligation. Systematic activities we have been conducting in the field of public relations have yielded results and now, according to the latest poll, more than 60% of our citizens support Croatia’s NATO membership”, said Minister Jandroković.

Congratulating the authors on their contribution, Minister Jandroković said that the NATO Lexicon will be an important source of information for both the professional and broad public even after Croatia’s entry in to NATO, which makes it a significant and useful piece of work.

The publishing of said lexicon comes at a time when Croatia is awaiting the NATO membership invitation and represents a further step in informing and strengthening the dialogue with the public about issues regarding Croatia’s NATO accession as its fundamental foreign-policy priority.

Apart from the authors, speeches were held by Croatian Defence Minister Branko Vukelić and reviewer Vlatko Cvrtila, Advisor to the Croatian President and professor at the Faculty of Political Science. A presentation on the implementation of the communication strategy for informing the Croatian public about NATO was held by Croatian Ambassador to NATO Davor Božinović.
