Minister Gordan Jandroković met with US Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England

Minister Jandroković thanked Deputy Secretary England and the US for their support for Croatia’s NATO accession

Minister Jandroković thanked Deputy Secretary England and the US for their support for Croatia’s NATO accession and the last week’s ratification of the Protocol on NATO Enlargement to Croatia by the US Senate. He expresses hope that this ratification would send a positive and encouraging signal for the other NATO members to ratify the Protocol, so that by the next summit in April 2009 Croatia could become a full-fledged member of the Alliance.

Both sides described the co-operation between Croatia and the US as excellent, the same being true for the co-operation within the UN Security Council. They also expressed satisfaction with the co-operation within the US-Adriatic Charter and the related activities. Both collocutors support the Charter’s enlargement to other countries of South Eastern Europe, with the aim of achieving stability in the region. Deputy Secretary England commended the Croatian military and police forces taking part in 15 peacekeeping missions around the world for their contribution to global peace and security.

Minister Jandroković congratulated Deputy Secretary England on receiving the Order of Prince Trpimir with a necklace and Danica for his contribution to the enhancement of the relations between the Republic of Croatia and the United States.
