MFAEI handed protest note to Serbian Ambassador Radivoj Cvetićanin

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration invited tonight Serbian Ambassador to Croatia Radivoj Cvetićanin and handed him a note expressing strongest protest over today’s attack on the building of the Croatian Embassy and Consulate in Belgrade, the damaging of the Croatian coat of arms and flag, causing of material damage, and the threats issued against the Embassy’s employees

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration invited tonight Serbian Ambassador to Croatia Radivoj Cvetićanin and handed him a note expressing strongest protest over today’s attack on the building of the Croatian Embassy and Consulate in Belgrade, the damaging of the Croatian coat of arms and flag, causing of material damage, and the threats issued against the Embassy’s employees.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration considers this act of vandalism a severe violation of the international law, which guarantees security, protection and the unobstructed functioning of diplomatic missions.

The Croatian side expects of the relevant Serbian bodies to offer detail explanation, find and punish the perpetrators, and compensate for the material damage.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration requires that relevant Serbian bodies undertake all the necessary measures to guarantee full safety of the Embassy’s building, as well as the safety of the diplomatic mission’s employees.
