MFAE hosts first meeting of National Committee for Transnational and Interregional Cooperation Programmes and EU Macroregional Strategies

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs 12 September hosted the first meeting of the National Committee for Transnational and Interregional Cooperation Programmes and EU Macroregional Strategies

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs 12 September hosted the first meeting of the National Committee for Coordination of Participation of the Republic of Croatia in Programmes of Transnational and Interregional Cooperation and in the EU Macroregional Strategies for Croatia for the 2014-2020 Period.

The Committee is an advisory body of the Croatian government tasked with determining and coordinating national priorities and strategic goals within the framework of macroregional cooperation and transnational and interregional programmes of the EU. The Committee is co-chaired by assistant ministers of regional development and EU funds and European and foreign affairs, while its members are representatives of all the relevant participants (competent ministries, NUTS 2 regions, economic and social partners, civil society).

At today’s constitutive session, the Rules of Procedure were adopted. Assistant Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and National Coordinator for the EU Macroregional Strategies for Croatia Hrvoje Marušić presented the current status of the implementation of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region and the preparation of the new EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region.

Assistant Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds and the Committee’s Chairperson Helga Bubanović Devčić outlined the preparations for adopting the new transnational programmes and interregional cooperation programmes. The working part of the session saw the Committee begin preparations for national partnership consultations for said programmes.
