On 27 January 2003, the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Croatia with the Council of Europe, and the Delegation of the Croatian Parliament with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, headed by Mirjana Ferić-Vac, presented an exhibition by the architect Dinko Kovačić titled "Mediterranean Architecture in the Dalmatian Landscape". The exhibition was opened by the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Walter Schwimmer, and Croatian Ambassador Neven Madey.
For almost 50 years now, the Council of Europe has been promoting the preservation of the cultural and natural heritage, said Mr. Schwimmer in his address, pointing out that this exhibition was a reflection of the integration of modern architecture in the landscape that preserves and promotes the quality of life of its citizens.
Introducing the author and his work Ambassador Madey said that this exhibition also indicated traditional Croatian connection to Europe that needed to be consolidated through firm integration ties.
On this occasion, a delegation of the city of Split headed by its Mayor, Dr. Slobodan Beroš, handed architect Kovačić a medal of the Split City Council.
