International ministerial conference dedicated to dialogue among civilisations opened in New Delhi...

On Wednesday, 9 July 2003, an international ministerial conference dedicated to dialogue among civilisations opened in New Delhi. At this gathering, organised by the Government of India with the assistance of the UNESCO, the Republic of Croatia is represented by Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Darko Bekić.

It is believed that after the tragic events of 11 September 2001, and the current disturbing direction in which international relations are developing, dialogue is becoming and equally important priority of the international community, beside prevention of wars and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

At this Conference the delegation of Croatia will work toward strengthening the political will for introducing tolerance against the background of increasing alienation of different cultures and civilisations as the basic values for the development of human society in the future.
