The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Croatia welcomes the statement from the Office of the President of the Slovenian Government, Mr. Anton Rop, for STA, denying allegations that the Slovenian Prime Minister, during his visit to Germany, conditioned the Slovenian support to the Croatian entry into the EU by the termination of the succession process of the former Yugoslavia. The Republic of Croatia particularly appreciates the support for joining the EU which was clearly expressed at the Office of the Slovenian Prime Minister. The termination of the succession process of the former Yugoslavia, after all the relevant facts related to the succession of rights and obligations arising from the former Yugoslavia have been established, is in the interest of both the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Slovenia, as well as other successor states.

It needs to be emphasised that bilateral relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Slovenia have been good traditionally, and that all unresolved issues are being addressed at the talks during regular meetings of officials of both states.
