First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Vesna Pusić received 26 November 2012 on farewell visit the French Ambassador to Croatia, H. E. Jérôme Pasquier. Pasquier congratulated Pusić on her appointment as the first deputy prime minister and the reforms Croatia had carried out as part of the EU accession process. Pusić expressed satisfaction with the Croatia Festival project in France, which was a success, and commented on cooperation with France in assisting the new Syrian coalition. The minister said she was looking forward to Croatian-French cooperation on joint projects in the region once Croatia joined the EU.

Regarding the ratification of Croatia’s EU Accession Treaty in the French parliament, Pasquier said the treaty would likely be ratified by the end of this year or in early 2013. Hopeful that the excellent cooperation would continue with his successor Michell Boccoz, he recalled the planned reciprocal visits by the two countries’ top officials. Minister Pusić thanked Ambassador Pasquier for his professional contribution during his term as ambassador to Croatia and France’s support during the accession negotiations.
