Farewell visit from Portuguese Ambassador Maria Paula Leal da Silva

On Thursday, October 10, 2024, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman received the Ambassador of the Portuguese Republic to the Republic of Croatia, Maria Paula Leal da Silva, for her farewell visit.
 
During the conversation, both sides expressed satisfaction with the close and friendly relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Portuguese Republic and their continuous progress. Croatia and Portugal maintain constructive cooperation within the EU, working together on common European issues such as migration, security, crisis recovery, demographic challenges, cohesion, and civil protection collaboration. Portugal has supported Croatia’s accession to the Schengen Area and entry into the Eurozone, as well as its bid to join the OECD. Portugal also supported Croatia’s membership in the MED Group.
 
The interlocutors agreed on the potential for further development of bilateral relations, particularly in areas such as the economy, culture, language, and the exchange of experiences regarding relations between the homeland and the diaspora. The minister thanked the ambassador for her active engagement and contribution to the development of bilateral relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Portuguese Republic.
