Inaugural visit from Irish Ambassador Wendy Dorman-Smith

On Thursday, October 10, 2024, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman received the Irish Ambassador to the Republic of Croatia, Wendy Dorman-Smith, for her inaugural visit.
 
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the close and friendly relations between the two countries, as well as the dynamic of high-level bilateral visits and meetings. The interlocutors agreed on the potential for further development of bilateral relations, particularly in economic cooperation, including green transition, digitalization, and tourism. The importance of the Croatian community in Ireland, which has been well-received and serves as an important link between the two countries, was also emphasized. Regarding EU matters, it was highlighted that Croatia and Ireland share close positions on a wide range of issues, and that Ireland supported Croatia’s membership in the Eurozone and the Schengen area.
