Diplomatic Academy organised lecture entitled Chapter 4 – Free Movement of Capital

On Thursday, 9 February 2006, organised by the MFAEI Diplomatic Academy, as a part of the Series of lectures by members of the team for Croatia’s accession negotiations with the EU, a lecture was held by Boris Vujčić and Ivan Biluš entitled Chapter 4 – Free Movement of Capital

Academy’s Director Petar Turčinović held the opening speech for the lecture delivered by Boris Vujčić, Deputy Governor of the Croatian National Bank, acting as a deputy chief negotiator and a member of the Negotiation Team for Chapters on Free Movement of Capital, Financial Services, and Economic and Monetary Union, and Ivan Biluš, Department Head at the Croatian National Bank, acting as the head of the working group for the preparations of the Chapter 4 negotiations.

Boris Vujčić explained the essence of the bilateral screening, reviewing the chapter’s content, the acquis communautaire concerning that chapter, and the condition of the Croatian legislature. Ivan Biluš pointed out that the European Commission was very pleased with the Croatian experts’ understanding of the chapter at the bilateral screening.

The Series of lectures by members of the team for Croatia’s accession negotiations with the EU began end-2005 and is designed for MFAEI and state administration officials. So far, lectures were given by Vladimir Drobnjak, Pero Lučin, Tamara Obradović Mazal and Olgica Spevec.
