The collocutors expressed satisfaction over the two countries’ excellent and friendly relations, augmented by high-level visits. In that regard, Minister Jandroković recalled his recent official visit to the Netherlands, as part of which he also met with Senate President van der Linden.

The minister thanked the Netherlands for the support and assistance it was showing Croatia along its road to full-fledged EU membership, especially in financing harmonization and reform programs.

Familiarizing his collocutor with the present status of the accession process, he pointed out Croatia’s determination to close the negotiations by the end of Hungary’s EU presidency in June this year. He added that special attention was being paid to satisfying the criteria for closing Chapter 23: Judiciary and Fundamental Rights.

Senate President van der Linden expressed his friendly attitude towards Croatia and lent support to Croatia’s completing the negotiations as soon as possible and becoming a full-fledged EU member.

The collocutors also discussed the state of affairs in South Eastern Europe, with Minister Jandroković communicating Croatia’s views on the current situation in the region.
