On Thursday, 11 July 2013, Deputy Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Joško Klisović, received Iraqi Minister of the Interior Mr. Adnan Hadi Noor Ali Al-Asadi.

They both expressed their satisfaction with the extremely good and friendly bilateral relations between the two countries, and placed special emphasis further development of bilateral economic cooperation. Minister Al-Asadi voiced support for continued appearance of Croatian companies on the market of Iraq.

Minister Al-Asadi also congratulated Croatia on acceding to full membership of the EU and expressed his satisfaction with the fact that Iraq has one more friend that is EU Member State. The Minister also thanked for the assistance Croatia is providing through humanitarian projects .

Both sides expressed their hopes of further development of democracy in Iraq, to join efforts in order to contribute to the stabilisation of the region at large.
