Croatian Foreign Minister Miomir Žužul received today, 10 May 2004, in Zagreb, Bulgarian Foreign Minister and OSCE Chairman-in-Office Solomon Passy
Minister Žužul extended his welcome to Minister Passy and congratulated Bulgaria on its NATO membership, adding that it can serve as an example to Croatia. Passy thanked Minister Žužul for the hospitality and said that Croatia can count on Bulgaria’s full support in its joining the EU and NATO.
It is of extreme importance for Croatia that the refugee issue be solved and that full co-operation with the Hague is achieved, said Minister Žužul, adding that OSCE is a vital partner in the realisation of these goals. Within this context is the visit by Minister Passy to Zadarska county 11 May 2004, for the purposes of supporting the process of the return of refugees and displaced persons.
Minister Passy, as the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, described as very positive the progress Croatia has made in the implementation of the refugee return program, and Head of OSCE Mission to Croatia, Ambassador Semneby, pointed out the positive co-operation with the Croatian government.
As regards the bilateral relations, Minister Žužul stressed the friendship and co-operation that exist between Croatia and Bulgaria, adding that there are no open issues between the two countries.
